TSCC access policy requires that all jobs be charged against an allocation. Jobs run on the condo, hotel and PDAF nodes are charged on a core-hour basis (one Service Unit or SU per core-hour). Jobs on PDAF nodes have access to substantially more memory than the other nodes. Please see the Jobs page for more details.
Users may install software in their home directories if they require packages not available in the TSCC core software stack.
Access to the hotel portion of the UCSD Triton Shared Computing Cluster is managed by the TSCC Participant Contact. The policy supports current UCSD, and UC researchers, as well as non-UC industry partners, through a simple, streamlined allocation process with minimal overhead. Condo participants may work directly with System Admins to setup their allocations, but should still work with the Participant Contact to initiate a request.
All users are encouraged to join the TSCC Mailing List for primary TSCC support and community feedback.
To access TSCC, you need a local account on the login nodes. If you already have a UCSD Active Directory (AD) account, it will be used to create your TSCC account, and you will authenticate using the password associated with it. If you do not have a UCSD AD account, a TSCC account will be created for you using an ssh public key you provide. The details of this setup will be handled through the Participant Contact.
Login credentials must be entered at a TSCC login node. The login nodes are:
tscc-login.sdsc.edu
and:
tscc.sdsc.edu
Once logged in, users can submit jobs to all of the TSCC nodes through the queue system. To find out more about running jobs, see the Running Jobs page. To find out more about logging in to TSCC with a new account, please see the Users section.
