Non-RCI UCSD Services

Below is a listing of services available on campus related to areas covered by RCI, but which are not funded directly by IDI.

Networking

ACT provides design, architecture, and optimization consulting to help you solve large data transfer or quality of service issues.

Centralized Storage

The San Diego Supercomputer Center provides three types of storage that address unique characteristics requested by researchers. These services complement and easily integrate with existing UCSD services.

  • Data Oasis - extremely high transfer rates of up to 50 gigabytes per second and low- latency access times critical to data-intensive applications. For more information contact Jim Hayes.
  • Project Storage - a flexible option for traditional network file-server space that can be mounted as a standard file system.
  • Cloud Storage - data storage in which files are treated as objects and stored in a highly durable, scalable, and secure disk-based environment.
